This article is about Luxottica Sunglasses. It is an Italian company. The company produces glasses for Channel, Prada, Bulgari, and other companies selling luxury goods. It also owns Ray-Ban sunglasses. All the companies around the world has a competitor and Luxottica is not the exception. The main competitor is Safilo, another Italian glasses manufacturer. The big difference between this two are the number of shops, because Luxottica has an amount of 5,500 shops and Safilo can not compet with that.


Although it is a manufacturer of luxury sunglasses their market is ten time more profitable than the market in cheap glasses. This is a company recognize worldwide and plans to continue expanding and bringing their products where other have not yet come.

The company has two challenges that is facing, these are:
First expand their market in China. At the moment, Luxottica has 250 shops there. But the company wants to double the number of shops.
And second is the next chairperson, because the founder has 70 year old. A new chairperson could make changes that turn Luxottica from a family company into a multinational.

Positive:
  • It is a profitable company
  • It is a big and solid company
  • They have competitors but have strategies to overcome them



Negative:
  • They need to select a new chairperson
  • They want to continue expanding the business



Sunglasses business is very recognize and use by people of all ages. It is an significant article that shows some of the world of sunglasses.
