Through this blog I realized the importance of many of the themes developed. In addition, I discovered my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. This is a new form to create a portfolio; it is more creative, dynamic and fun way to work that.

SHORT MESSAGE IN A BUSINESS
In most businesses the employees take messages or notes to provide the person that call to the company and institution. It is often necessary to leave short messages for colleagues. It is a good idea to keep your message short and simple and use informal language.
This messages often include the following information:
Contact details
Time, day or date of the message
Sample messages, these are the requirements:

- Time:
Sample notes, these are the requirements:

- Message
- Closing
The messages and notes are very useful when we need to take the information from other people and then given the message to a friend.
Faxes
STILL USE FAXES IN BUSINESS
Fax is another technique to send documents quickly. When people have important document to send, they often send a copy by fax first. We should use the fax in the following situations: to place and confirm orders for goods and supplies, to make hotel and travel bookings, to request and confirm payments, to make and answer enquiries, to request action or give instructions, and to send copies of documents.
In the fax you should include the following components:
- Letterhead (company name)
- Name of the person the fax is to
- Name of the person sending the fax
- Sender's fax number
- Date
- Number of the pages-is very important if a page is missing, you can ask to the person sending the fax. And he/she can resend the page.
- Subject
- Body of the message
- Closing
- Signature (hand written)
Positive:
- To send documents quickly
- If you do not have Internet, this technique can be used to communicate with other companies, supplies, among other.
Negative:
- If an blackout occurs, the documents can not be sent
- All the business does not have fax
In my personal opinion, the faxes should not be used for the company because all the enterprise does not have this device
Emails
THE PURPOSE OF AN EMAIL
It is a fast and cheap way to communicate. Sometimes the emails are very short and informal, and other times they are longer and more formal, like a letter. Email is one of the most common method used by people to communicate quickly with people, department, country, business, among other.
The purpose of the email can be: to ask for or send information, to ask people to do things, to give instructions or directions, to confirm arrangements that you have discussed by phone, an to send longer documents. In this technological era email is an important tool for anyone, because with just one click you can send an urgent message in seconds. What a simple letter mailed take days or even months depending of the distance.
The following components should appear on the page:
- Name of the person/people sending the email
- Name of the person/people the email is addressed to
- Other person or people who will receive a copy of the email though it is not addressed directly to them
- The date and the time when the email is sent
- Information about the content of the email
- A document is attached
- Opening
- Body of the message
- Closing
- Name
Some recommendations to write a correct email, we can mentioned the following: use short sentences and simple language, do not write emails in CAPITAL letters, use polite language for instructions and requests, and always read the emails before you send it.
Positive:
- Fast and cheap way to communicate
- Do not contaminate the planet, because you do not need use pages
Negative:
- You need have Internet to send it
- All the people does not have the time to check and read email
We have to be in the vanguard of technology, because every day is created a new method or device that allows us to communicate from miles away. If we are not informed of this, would become outdated.
Plan your writing
NOTES TO WRITE
When you write a note, letter, speech, and other methods of communication you need make a plan where you use a technique like a brainstorming, then to rewrite your idea about the topic selected. In this section will be offering you some tips about how to make your writing plan:
Make a plan:
Think about these questions: who am I writing to? Why am I writing? and what does the reader know? These questions helps you to choose the right language, and at the same time be polite. It is important to be clear the purpose so that you can make it clear for your readers. And remember, too much information can be confusing. For example: if you are going to write about technology, you have to know the age and knowledge of the people are going to read your writing. If you do not take or investigate this aspects, the person cannot understand.
Write Notes:
Decide about the information you need to include. Do not worry about the mistakes, write short clear sentences and use a dictionary to find important words.
Write a Final Version:
You can change the order of points, add more information, check the sentences are clear and correct, use a grammar references and use a dictionary.
Check for mistakes and politeness:
Always check your writing before you send it. You can check: if you include all the important information, is the message is clear and easy to read and understand, if you do not have grammar or spelling mistakes, the style is right and it is polite.
Positive:
- You can order your ideas to create a understandable reading
- You can check the sentences
- You can include all the important information
- Help you to choose a right language, and others
Negative:
- Spend much time planning
It is very useful but only if you have all the time to plan what are you going write, because you can check if the grammar, polite, style, words, all the things that you write is in the correct form.
The Importance of managing projects well
PROJECTS ANALYSIS
Project Management is very important, because it demanded the full attention and concentration of the person who directs. In this activity not only the big projects can have problem with the deadlines and budgets, also the smallest projects can have troubles. Some projects fail because the work takes longer than planned.
Sometimes the cost of labour or materials is more than the agreed budget. But good project management can increase a company's profits. Project Management is not a new science. It has an international association, The Project Management Institute (PMI), based in Pennsylvania, USA. The PMI sets professional exams that thousands of people take every year. It has 150,000 members in 150 countries. All of the members are specialists in managing projects.
Customers are happy when they receive the project delivery date or earlier, and also are not over budget. The success of these companies depends on their willingness and planning of the work to develop.
Positive:
Increase the profits of the company

To develop a good project we need to make a project analysis to get the possible numbers , deadline, etc.
Is Money Enough?
THE BUSINESS OF GIVING
Today, many rich and famous people give money to the charity. And it is important to mention that there are more rich people than in the past. The help they provide to those who need is good, but the money is not everything that they can provide to help another person. It is traditional for the rich to give money to hospitals, libraries, and universities. These are important, but this does not always help the very poor. Because they can often have useful social connections. They usually know how to market ideas and how to interest the media in a subject.
They can give more than money; they can also give time to this people, make social connections, and skills to help find solutions to some of the world's problems, such as poverty and environment. However, this people are busy or simply they do not have time for this.
Positive:
- Give money to hospitals, libraries, and universities
- Give money to the charity
Negative:
- The money is not everything that they can provide to help
- This people are busy or simply they do not have time for this
Some of this people provide this assistance because they want to, but some of them just want to be known and respected for donating money to those who need it most. If we do not given the required importance can become in a business for that rich people.
Delicious Opportunity to have fun with your colleagues
THE OFFICE PICNIC
An office picnic can be a delicious opportunity to have fun with your colleagues. In this event the tradition is go to local parks with food and families, and enjoy it. The companies picnic is a new technique used in USA for employees to socialise and liberate stress in an informal way.
Employees like picnics because they can arrive and leave when they want to. They relax, eat, and play games with family and colleagues. But a picnic is not easy because many people do not like insects, noisy children and bad weather- and this can all happen in a picnic.
Food is probably the main health and safety concern because hot weather makes it difficult to keep food cool and edible. Some types of food,such as fish, meat, and cheese, are very dangerous if they are in the sun too long. Bring food to a picnic is very delicate because if we do not take the precautions, may be damaged and cause sickness in people who attend.
Positive:
- Employees can socialise and liberate stress
- Can you relax, eat, and play games with family and colleagues
Negative:
- Bring food to a picnic is very delicate
- many people do not like insects, noisy children and bad weather- and this can all happen in a picnic
Picnic is a great idea to have a funny time and also share with your family, friends, and your colleagues. It is a way where you can socialise with a person with which you never talk, or you can liberate all the stress of your daily life.
A Tidy Desk?
THE PAPERLESS OFFICE
We can start with a question-Is your desk or workplace tidy or untidy? Many of us find difficult to keep a workplace clean and tidy. Sometimes we can not find our materials works at the desk, as there are so many things about it that we do not visualize what we need at the moment.
In many companies is very important to have a tidy office. Some of that say that workers cannot leave documents or paper on their desk at the end of the day. For that reason, employees put all the documents into filing cabinets or drawers.
There are two types of worker:
Filer: They receive a document and immediately file it. The filer are organized in all their life in everything that they do. This is a good method if you do not exceed the limits.
Piler: They have piles of paper on their desk. The piler are unconcerned and unorganized people. They have to be more responsible in the things that they do.
Nevertheless, workers who file everything have a tidy desk, but they file too much. There are two main problems with this: first, files and filing cabinets take a lot of space in the office, and second there are so many files that it takes time to remember where a particular document is.
Now let's look al piler. Some experts say that a busy desk helps pilers to think about current projects and make it easy to find documents. So, What do you prefer?
Positive:
- Tidy person projects a good image
- You file all the documents
- Your CEO will be happy with you
Negative:
- You can not find the documents quickly
- You need enough time to file
I think I have a little of both. When I have to pile documents I do, and when I need to file the papers I do. Is a good balance.
Designer Glasses
LOOK EAST
This article is about Luxottica Sunglasses. It is an Italian company. The company produces glasses for Channel, Prada, Bulgari, and other companies selling luxury goods. It also owns Ray-Ban sunglasses. All the companies around the world has a competitor and Luxottica is not the exception. The main competitor is Safilo, another Italian glasses manufacturer. The big difference between this two are the number of shops, because Luxottica has an amount of 5,500 shops and Safilo can not compet with that.
Although it is a manufacturer of luxury sunglasses their market is ten time more profitable than the market in cheap glasses. This is a company recognize worldwide and plans to continue expanding and bringing their products where other have not yet come.
The company has two challenges that is facing, these are:
First expand their market in China. At the moment, Luxottica has 250 shops there. But the company wants to double the number of shops.
And second is the next chairperson, because the founder has 70 year old. A new chairperson could make changes that turn Luxottica from a family company into a multinational.
Positive:
- It is a profitable company
- It is a big and solid company
- They have competitors but have strategies to overcome them
Negative:
- They need to select a new chairperson
- They want to continue expanding the business
Sunglasses business is very recognize and use by people of all ages. It is an significant article that shows some of the world of sunglasses.

Business and Travel
WORKING IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY
Travel to different countries to work is a new type of worker in today's global business, being that more and more people in their jobs have travel to take charge of another branch of the enterprise in other place. Maybe this new modality represents expenses for the company and for the employee who can not have a stable life by having to travel from one place to another. But in terms of productivity, it is more productive than hire a person abroad.
Some employees travel to different countries to work on projects. They are in a country until a project ends and then they return home. But go to another city is more than just having a passport, is adapted. You can find various inconveniences such as: language, currency, customs, religion, culture, among others.
The traveller should know and master all the elements mentioned above to maintain a harmonious stay. The projected image abroad is not only the letter of introduction of the employee, but also the business. If you project a wrong image, you will receive the same catalogued business which is not good for your market in the foreign country.
Positive:
- Workers know different nationalities
- Business have contact around the world
- Company can be a global enterprise
- Can have branch in several cities
Negative:
- Government does not know where employees should pay taxes
- An unprepared person can project a wrong image
- The cost of moving the worker from one place to another place
This is a new technique of globalization that we need to use and to know. It is a great opportunity to travel around the world and to get awareness.
Skills and Competencies
University is one of the most importance sites in the formation of a person, social and emotional education. This gives us the first tools that we need to create our personal opinions and points of view. I chose the career that was one of the best way that UTP could offer me. Especially, in a world filled of people with different talents and abilities who competed for a good job opportunity.

Gala Night
Gala Night in Feria de David
This special night all the candidates from the different faculties competed to see which would be the new Queen of UTP
The Points to be evaluated by the jury this evening would be: presentation of the candidate, dancing (salsa, típico and típico popular), domain questions and answers, and others.
At the end of the night the new UTP Queen was Ana Cris Amarís Vargas, Civil Engineering Candidate. The order of positions was as follows:
1º Civil Engineering Faculty
2º Industrial Engineering Faculty
3º Science and Technology Faculty
4º Faculty of Engineering in Computer System & Electrical Engineering Faculty

Introduction
